How we work

Editorial policy.

Our standards

WhiskAI content is researched, written, and reviewed by an editorial team with experience in religious affairs reporting and community publishing. Every city page, guide, and article goes through a three-stage process before publication: research, drafting, and editorial review.

Research

City-specific content draws from public sources: mosque websites, the Muslim Council of Britain directory in the UK, the ISNA mosque directory in the US, regional news archives, official population statistics from the Office for National Statistics (UK) and the US Census Bureau, and historical records published by recognised academic and community bodies. Where a claim is specific (such as a mosque's founding year or congregation size), we cite or link the source.

Reviewer panel

Each city page is reviewed by at least one community reader with first-hand knowledge of the city's Muslim community before publication. Reviewers do not write or edit content directly but flag inaccuracies, omissions, and culturally insensitive framing. We rotate reviewers across regions to maintain perspective diversity.

Updates and corrections

We refresh prayer times daily through the Aladhan API. Long-form city content is reviewed quarterly to catch outdated information (mosque relocations, community changes, demographic shifts). Articles tied to specific upcoming dates (Ramadan, Eid) are updated as confirmation arrives from regional moonsighting authorities.

If you spot an error, please contact us. We aim to publish corrections within 48 hours of confirming the issue. Substantial corrections include a footer note on the affected page.

Independence

WhiskAI is independent and self-funded. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. We do not feature mosques in exchange for fees. Where the site displays advertisements (currently through Google AdSense), advertising is served programmatically and does not influence editorial choices.

Transparency
